There is no spec of doubt that Meryl Streep was destined to play the role ruthless Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. The Devil Wears Prada was spearheaded by Streep's sophisticated sarcasm, and her calm yet powerful delivery of this line is one of her best moments in the film.

George Taylor (played by Charlton Heston) yells out this line in 1968's Planet of the Apes when he is captured and enslaved on a planet ruled by apes. He puts up a good fight before being overpowered by the ape men. The intense silence that follows certainly gives you goosebumps when all the apes surround him.

“It was Beauty …”

In this scene of 2005's King Kong, a crowd gathers after watching the mighty ape free fall from the top of the empire state building, plummeting to certain death. Two reporters discuss why the mighty ape would climb up the building only to get cornered and conclude the airplanes killed him. Denham, however, points out that it was beauty that ultimately killed the beast.

In one of the most memorable scenes of Gladiator, Maximus (played by Russel Crowe) slashes and stabs through his opponents, after which he throws his sword into the stands and silences the crowd. Gladiator won five Oscars at the 73rd Academy Awards held in 2001, including best picture and best actor.

John Connor (played by Edward Furlong) tries to explain to the T-800 that he must listen and understand the way normal people talk by giving a few examples that would come handy in different types of situations and the line "Hasta la vista, baby!" became the trademark dialogue of Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

It's pretty hard to forget Vincent Vega (played by John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (played by Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction discussing the most inconsequential of things, like what a quarter pounder with cheese is called in France. Vincent says this line to Jules while they're are on their way to finish another job.

Clint Eastwood plays the iconic Harry Callahan in Sudden Impact, which was also directed by the actor. And it's something you'll never forget once you've watched the movie. His iconic role of Harry Callahan can be seen taunting a robber who has taken a woman hostage. Talk about a bold statement.

In this final scene of Scarface, Tony Montana (played by Al Pacino) waits ready with a grenade launcher after he notices his enemies have broken into the home. As the goons gather around the door, Tony launches one of the grenades yelling "say hello to my little friend" without warning that blows off the doors and takes his attackers by surprise.

This is the most memorable quote from Toy Story for one single reason, watching Buzz Lightyear attempt to fly. In Gone With the Wind, Rhett Butler (played by Clark Gable) is fed up with Scarlett O'Hara (Vivian Leigh) and decides to walk out of her life. In a desperate plea to stop him, Scarlett runs down the stairs just as Rhett opens the main door urges him to stay. The intense scene ends with Rhett quoting the line and walking out after Scarlett asks where she'll go or what she'll do.

James Cameroon, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kate Winslet, three names that immediately come to mind when you think of Titanic. Who can forget Jack Dawson (played by DiCaprio) climb on the grill at the very front of the ship, spread his arms, and shout "I'm king of the World" in the blowing wind?

The memorable science fiction classic E.T. directed by Steven Spielberg has many notable quotes from the beloved extraterrestrial. In this scene, E.T. hands Elliot a comic strip and runs towards the window to point outside to his home, rejoins Gertie and Elliot to repeatedly say the words "E.T. phone home."

Fighter pilots Maverick (played by Tom Cruise) and Goose (played by Anthony Edwards) are the dream duo, born and trained to fly together. One always has the other's back no matter what at Top Gun academy. In one of the scenes before taking off for some good air to air combat training, Maverick and Goose quote the line together.

The line was actually improvised on the set of Taxi Driver as the script only required the actor to speak to himself in front of the mirror in this scene. Travis (played by Robert De Niro) can be seen posing repeatedly with a small handgun when he pulls it out and holsters the weapon asking himself, "You talkin' to me?"

“Houston…”

A dialogue that sent a chill down everyone's spine when Astronaut Jim Lovell confirms there is a serious problem that might jeopardize their mission, to land on the moon. Apollo 13, a mission that is often referred to as a "successful failure," wherein the astronauts never landed on the moon, but NASA was able to bring them back in a crippled command module.

The climax scene of the movie Casablanca also features one of the most memorable quotes of the film. When Ilsa is about to get on a plane and Rick decides not to go with her for he thinks their life will be better apart, he reminds her "We'll always have Paris". Rick assures Ilsa that they'll always be together in their memories.

In the heated courtroom interrogation of A Few Good Men, colonel Jessup (played by Jack Nicholson) yells the legendary quote when asked how a soldier died on his watch. There are suspicions around the fact that the colonel might have something to do with a soldier's death, and Lt. Daniel Kaffee (played by Tom Cruise) questions his actions.

The Godfather is a Hollywood classic, period. A movie that highlight the nuances of gang wars and turfs. Even if you have not watched the movie, there is a high probability of stumbling across the quote "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse." Vito Corleone (played by Marlon Brando) certainly does an exemplary job of delivering the line that sends a chill down your spine.

“Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys…”

Professor Keating gathers his students in the hallway and asks one of them to read the first stanza from the poem "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time." Keating breaks down the stanza and explains the sentiment behind those words. He then asks the students to step forward and look at some of the faces from the past. As they lean in, he whispers the words Carpe Diem ever so softly, asking them to just seize the day.

In the 1939 movie of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes directed by Alfred L. Werker, the line is often spoken by the genius detective to point out the obvious to Dr. Watson. The quote taken from the books was added in the script for the movie and it was Sherlocks unusual style of delivery that made it stand out as a memorable dialogue.

Perhaps one of the more intense scenes from Frankenstein is when the mad scientist Henry Frankenstein (played by Colin Clive) realizes that his creation has come to life. We can see the fingers moving and the monster lifting its hand up to which Henry is brought down to his knees repeatedly exclaiming "It's alive, it's alive!"

In this hair-raising scene of Jaws, the great white appears out of nowhere while Brody (played by Roy Schieder) is busy throwing cut meat off the boat. Brody, completely taken by surprise, backs up to the control room and tells Quint (played by Robert Shaw) that he is going to need a bigger boat as the shark continues to circle around.

In this Martin Scorsese adaptation of the critically acclaimed Infernal Affairs, Frank Costello (played by Jack Nicholson) quotes this line to a young Colin Sullivan (played by Conor Donovan). The Departed follows three men: a straight cop, a crooked cop, and an Irish mobster. Costello's character is based on Irish American mobster James "Whitey" Bulger.

In The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda (played by Frank Oz) can be seen quoting this line to Luke Skywalker in an attempt to provide wisdom to the aspiring Jedi. Luke tries his best to use the force, but Yoda doesn't seem to be quite impressed by his efforts.

The line from this memorable scene from The Wizard of Oz, in which Dorothy (played by Judy Garland) is more often misquoted people forget "Toto" from the quote. Dorothy quotes the line when she finds herself in a strange land but not before encountering the scarecrow on her way to the Emerald City.

The fearless Harry Callahan (played by Clint Eastwood) in Dirty Harry delivers this memorable line right in the middle of his lunch, when he gets up to stop a bank robbery. The scene is quite unforgettable as Callahan crosses the street and points his gun at the already wounded man.
